"Since their acquisition by Sears, Kmart began carrying quality brands such as Craftsman, Martha Stewart, Dyson, & Kenmore."

The above quote is incorrect. Kmart acquired Sears not Sears Kmart. Martha Stewart is an old line for Kmart and has been around for years, even before 2000. True, after the purchase Kmart did start carrying some Craftsman tools, a few Kenmore items and the Dyson vacuums.

Kristen - this campaign isn't typical of all SocialSpark opportunities and campaigns. I'm really supportive of what IZEA is doing and they are opening some great doors for bloggers. I think as influencer marketing gains more momentum, we will see more campaigns like this, but also more 'customization' for the participating influencers. Since I have a blog on my network where this content is entirely appropriate, it works for me. If I just had one blog, it might be a different story.

On the flip side of that point, I've found it makes sense to create logical separations between my editorial content and sponsored content, which I did to be able to have more flexibility with my business model. I think more publishers will be doing the same as more opportunities arise such as this.

I remember seeing these on Twitter, and while it was a bit of overkill with that, the program itself was smart.

I know that on my personal blog (where I was approached by Social Spark), I'd need a bit more flexibility in terms of the "contest" aspect. I'm a bit more controlling of what I do and don't post there and if I was able to eliminate some of the twitter action, etc. I'd be willing.

But that's just me, and certainly types of programs are effective when done well.

Kudos.
